We have something new this year to go with our micro flash fiction contest!
Jack Morgan, a founding member of Story Street Writers, will lead a 90-minute seminar class on story-crafting in micro-fiction.
There is no cost to join; you simply sign up for the class when you submit your entry in the Nightmare On Story Street micro-fiction contest.
The class is limited to 100 people.
Date/Time: Saturday, November 15, 6:00-7:30 PM (Eastern)
The class will cover these topics:
- How micro-fiction forces us to do our best writing
- What are story, plot, and structure?
- How do I make editing decisions?
- How do I handle feedback?
- What to do with my micro-masterpiece?
With breaks for independent work, we each develop, write, and edit a 100-word story by following these steps:
- Introductions and reading/discussion of our exemplar piece
- Create our story and plot, then decide on a structure
- Choose POV and narrative voice, then write a first draft
- Edit for economy, movement, and powerful white space
